Holistic Empowerment for the Less Privileged (HELP-Uganda) is a registered Non-government organization providing a platform for collective action and voice to less privileged people to strongly advocate for a decent livelihood and human rights protection. HELP Uganda was founded in 2013 by a group of visionary leaders who recognized that the scattered effort by different people needed to be marshaled together for better impact and a collective voice. HELP Uganda is registered as a national NGO with the NGO Board, Ministry of Internal Affairs Regn. No. 9878 and by the Registrar of Companies, Uganda Registration Bureau Services (URBS) as company limited by Guarantee under Regn. Cert. No 171391.

What We do
Orphans and vulnerable children support
Majority of children accessing care at HELP- Uganda are vulnerable having either lost at least one parent or both, living in child headed households, living with elderly caretakers, living in poverty stricken households, disabled and some of them abused.Help uganda throught the OVC program accommodates children orphaned from such natural circumstances.
Vocational/ life skills training
The goal of this programme is to contribute towards a peaceful, stable, prosperous Uganda with reduced poverty and marginalization of women, youth and their families. The desired outcome is increased economic opportunities and positive social engagement of youth.
Reaching out to communities devastated by HIV/AIDs and poverty.
Holistic Empowerment for the Less Privileged offers the following HIV/AIDS services.
- Community- facility linkages and referral
- HIV counseling and testing (HCT),
- Psychosocial support
- Maternal health
- Safe male circumcision (SMC)
Democracy, good governance and accountability
This Program is a deliberate effort to complement government initiatives in the fight against corruption through sensitizing and empowering local communities to demand for transparency and accountability from their leaders.Within this component, the goal is geared towards engaging the civil society, and other local actors in building their capabilities to mobilize, participate, and hold their leaders accountable.
HELP strives to promote human rights through advocacy and capacity building. We promote the rights of vulnerable people through research , documentation and dissemination of accurate data to challenge the harmfuland rigid cultcural practices that perpetuate human rights abuses and gender inequalities in families,communities and institutins.

HELP-Uganda is focused on lasting results and is committed to improving lives of the less previlidged. By partnering with development partners and investing in the development of its employees, HELP-Uganda strengthens local capacity for the delivery of high-impact community services. In terms of financial sustainability, HELP-Uganda pursues funding from a variety of sources, including traditional public and private donors and income-generating ventures.
